LINDA HOETINK was born in The Netherlands and trained as a painter in the U.S. and Amsterdam. In 2000, she exchanged her canvas for silk and now makes hand-painted and hand-printed scarves, belts, cushions and kimonos. All her work is performed on high quality fabrics, such as satin, chiffon, velvet and organza. And each piece is one of a kind.

HER textiles display a strong sense of colour, and her method of painting directly on to the fabric lends a bold, rhythmic quality to her work. “The relationship between pure and applied art has always interested me,” Hoetink says, “and in my textiles I try to fuse the two, exploring the tension between the artistic and the decorative.”
