About Me
I trained as a painter but have always loved fabrics and patterns, and in my work I aim to merge fine and decorative art. Whether I am designing tea towels, bedding, or wall coverings, my work always starts on paper, and my process is rooted in the physicality of the materials, such as water colour, acrylic, ink, and gouache. I approach each design in an intuitive way, with an emphasis on the painterly hand. I value seeing the human hand behind a design, and I see beauty in its imperfections and idiosyncrasies.
My inspiration comes from my garden, my collection of vintage fabrics, my travels, and the physical world around me — the pattern sunlight creates on a forest path, the shape of the handle on a vase. I've lived in Amsterdam and Boston, and I currently live and work in London.
